Where Is My Right - Poem by Gajanan Mishra

Where is my right,
Right to free and
Compulsory education.

Where shall I read?
My school was here
In my own village
And it is no more
Today's morning.

Where shall I go
To read and how to
Go I don't know.

Where is my teacher?
I have no knowledge
But they have taken away
My right to education
What for I know not.

The system has endowed Right to Education to every child, urban or rural, however the lack of proper infrastructure has till now deprived children in remote villages/settlements from education.
