Whirlwind Poem by Tina P..

Whirlwind

Surprisingly you stand beside me
I can’t really see clearly
All the reasons why
Not easy to give up on you
Because you’re so persistent
Compliments and connections
Turn into complications and convictions
Last time so far gone
But this isn’t all new to me
Tiring, exhausting, consuming
Small minded and big headed
Inexperienced and over compensating
My lesson, he showed me realism
And how it’s hidden on the surface
You never realize when you least expect something
Direction unknown
Crashing, defenseless
You could take pen and paper
Pass me a note with truth written inside
And I would never just take it for what it was
Interpretation differentiates
Analysis permeates
Leaders congregate
Still truth is not real
What’s real is not truth
Who determines fact from fake?
Going out on a limb
And jumping off
Out of touch
Forever thinking
Endlessly
