Whispers Of Wish Poem by Olawale Oluwole

Whispers Of Wish

Rating: 5.0

How I wish today would murmur
Of leisure, not the glitter of treasure.
How I wish the morning sun
Spilled light toward the future,
Unburdened by the weight of tuition.

How I wish the day could breathe,
Free from lamentation and suffocation.
How I wish opposing hearts
Found rhythm in consensus,
Not the clash of contention.

How I wish dreams would drift
Into open hands,
Not trapped behind furrowed brows.
How I wish the mud beneath the earth
Held steady,
Not slipping into uncertainty.

How I wish love resided
In the quiet chambers of seeking hearts,
Not the lustful eyes that wander.
How I wish feelings could bloom,
Tender as silk,
Not frozen into stone.

How I wish God's gaze lingered
In protection,
Not in silent rejection.
How I wish my quiet siesta
Could ripple outward,
Touching the hidden pulse of the world.
