White Sheets & Steel Badges Poem by Negus DeRulely

White Sheets & Steel Badges

Rating: 5.0

Earthly power given to
Insipid men stuck their ways,
I somehow fit the description
Of a complaint that was never made.

Protect and serves is more
Like persecute and harass,
Streets run red when white sheets
Are substituted for a gun and steel badge

An insightful depiction of racism and police brutality, well articulated and elegantly brought forth in good poetic diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Negus. Please read my poem CHILDREN OF CRUEL FATE.
