Who Am I - Poem by Terrance Woolridge
I am the underdog that comes out
On top when at the bottom
I am the answer not the problem
I am not the lowest thing on this earth
Though I’m as pure as Egypt
Sand and as strong as the pyramids that stand
Inhale my presence like a breath of fresh air.
How can my father deny me with my obvious
Bronze skin and wooly hair?
No I am not Jesus so please don’t misinterpret
Give me time to overeducate you with my
How can a force produced out
Of sin be filled with blessing?
Who am I?
I am hope,
I am confidence,
I am belief in ya self,
But preferably I prefer to be addressed
As Knowledge of Self.
Allow me to enter your brain through
Ya sense of hearing and seep out ya pores
Like summer sweat.
I am what drives you
To succeed so open ya mind like the gift
That it is and share your present with whom
And all because the mental death is
Definitely the worst death of them all
Who am I?
I’m Terrance Woolridge yawl
