Who am I, when I write
Who am I, when I recite,
I am the one that's being used
I am the one that has been hurt and bruised.
Who am I, when I feel the pain
Who am I, when it hurts my brain,
I must always feel and then compose
As fate has chose.
Who am I with pencil in hand
Who am I to cripple someone or make then stand,
In my mind and dreams I hear the verses
Soon, they become curses.
Who am I, with paper in from of me
Who am I. writing consistently,
In my thoughts I see every word
I write them down, because they must be read and heard.
Who am I, when I can't sleep
Who am I, when I must weep,
I am who I am, and I know it
I am just a poet.
Who am I, but a slave
Who am I, I'm Randy McClave
All the great poets are dead
Maybe one day with them I'll rest my head.
