Who Are My Friends Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Who Are My Friends

Rating: 5.0

Who are my friends
Those who do no see my faults are not
Those who offer me no corrections are not
Those who amplifies my little efforts are not
Those that see nothing wrong in my actions are not
Those who freely offer me their surpluses are not
The praisers of my humble person are not

Who are my friends
They are those not bothered about my affiliation with them
They are those not taken by my human accomplishments
They are those not influenced by my gains and offers
They are those not disturbed about my colour and tribe
They are those not concerned about my feelings on their judgment
They are those not aware from whence I come and whither I go
They are those who give no damn on the import of my life on theirs

Who are my friends
Those who seek the truth are they
Those who find the truth are they
Those who know the truth are they
Those who live by the truth are they
Those who administer the truth are they

My true friends
Put me on the scale of right standards
Regardless of who I am
Regardless of who they are
Regardless of what the society says
To deliver judgment unadulterated.

I concur with your wonderful thoughts. A beautiful poem that expresses in brilliant detail the attributes of a friend. Liked the ultimate stanza.

You pointed out rightly who are true and who are fake. We all need friends but only true and sincere. Well said.5***
