Who Is Shri Ram Poem by Mahathi Mydavolu

Who Is Shri Ram

I see Thy glorious golden crown O Ram
with awe; describe thy fluttery saffron silks,
depict thy hue as blues of yonder calm
and laud thy lineage and royal ilk.

I praise thy lovely eyes and lotus feet.
I eulogize thy height and lengthy arms,
extol thy gallantry, thy epic feats,
and hail thy rhythmic walk and sacred charms.

I say thou're avatar of Lord Vishnu
and give thee thousand fancy names and chant.
But well, I know thou're not what all we view,
and bland are poetic swills we so decant!

Thou're face of perseverance, a form of ruth,
the spirit of love and virtue and soul of truth.
