'Who Knows? ' 'they Do.' Poem by Bryan Taplits

'Who Knows? ' 'they Do.'

The birds head toward South 'they say'
When winter clears her throat,
They know not why the slant is South-
But they know that it is so.

They also said the vax was safe
Effective, heaven sent and just,
But then other doctors scoffed and mocked-
So you wonder whom to trust?

The Government says they themselves are all dears,
'We do it all for you! '
But then we find their salaries
Are based on what they do.
So if they do nothing, sit tight, and let things ride, -
Which is what in truth they should do,
They see their pay go
'That away'-
And their salaries take a downward slide.

So who to believe?
That's the question
Everyone wants to know,
Journalists finding this out
Always deserves a hearty shout--
Until you find out-
What 'they' all thought they knew:
It just wasn't so.

Meanwhile, that media, which use to protect the meek
Those weak of humble tents,
Today
blusters and blows their trumpet-
Handing off their arrogance-
To those titans in Government.

Then the workers of that Government
Deride and mock-
And never bend-
Towards whomever disagrees with them.
And so the merry-go-round goes round
And round and round and round
And round and round
Again!
