Who Makes the Rules?

Parents make the rules
When you are a child,
The workplace makes the rules
When you begin working,
Society makes the rules
When you get married,
Children make the rules
When you grow old.

All these rules written
And unwritten
Make me wonder often,
Who wrote the first rule?

Did the first man
Wandering the green earth
Stop and think, "What's my life,
Without a few rules? "

Or did the first woman
Wandering behind her man
(because, as usual, he was walking too fast) ,
Stop and say, "Hey, my man,
You need to follow a few rules".
