Who Will Be There? Poem by Grace Pantaleo

Who Will Be There?

The year my blood won't run,
the month my legs won't move,
the week I'll be weak,
the day eyes will close,
the hour my speech will cease,
the minute I'll loose my breath
and the second my heart will stop,
Who will be there?

will there be a doctor or nurse?
or a priest from the church?
will there be parents or friends?
or my brothers and sisters?
will there be my husband or in-laws?
or maybe my son and daughter?
will there be neighbors or strangers?
When my time will come,
Who will be there?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I will be there, it's painful to see the end closing down and this is a passionate question

A very deep poem and well crafted, I wish I knew the answer.
