Why Poem by Ben waweru Kamau

Why

Why, when I could have given you everything
The stars, the moon if they were mine to give
Like a broken pot, my heart is shattered
Like dried grains, the pieces have scatter

Why, should I have waited?
Patience isn't a virtue to a yearning heart
When a drop carries everything that hides inside
It wash the resentment and heals the wound

And now, the yearning is no longer there
No more crying, the wounds are dry no more waiting
Aha freedom at last, how euphoric it is, like dejavu.
