Why? Poem by June FeirCruz

Why?

Rating: 2.5

I can see the contempt behind your eyes when you look at me
I became a liability and no longer the asset you used to think of me.
You have seen my feet of clay
You have seen my imperfect ways
You have seen my imperfect life
You have seen the worst of me.

I no longer fit the image you used to have of me.
I am no longer the glamorous one
So, you started auditioning for the next 'THE ONE'
THE ONE you think would give you what you needed
The one you think would complete you.
The one you think more worthy of you.

You said there was no chemistry between the two of you.
And yet, she 'intrigues' you.
Is that supposed to make me feel less hurt?
What does it even mean?
If you think I am going to dissuade you from pursuing her
Clearly, you do not know me at all.

Who am I to stop you?
When the love you profess you have for me should have prevented you.
I mean nothing to you at all.
For clearly, if for a nano second you truly stopped and think:
What would happen if you betray me?
Then your heart could have given you an answer.
But you thought with your other head, and not your heart
So now, you suffer the consequences till the next lifetime or two.

Very emotional and very true. This is another telling it like it is. A 10+++++ and maybe one of these days men will actually get the message. Maybe. Love & hugs, Barbara
