Why Did He? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Why Did He?

Why did he?

Many years have gone by,
He is dead, buried, now,
Even bones are powdered,
But the question remains,
About the why and when:
"What happened? "

Gentle, wise, and old man,
Only talked with wisdom,
Was that too a comment?
Had he felt some dagger?

Named after his father,
We chatted like friends.
Used many tales, fables,
As if nail, saw, hammer.

He is gone but has not,
His word, fog, or cloud,
That remains, is around!

Why did he say what he said?
For what cause and purpose?

A father called his son:
"Rush toward the bazaar,
And purchase a basket, "
Gave exact measurements.

"Can I ask for what use? "
Son questioned, was aloof.

"To get rid of my pa…"
Bewildered his reply…

Son returned but with two,
Man listened to son's:
"One stay for your time! "

Why did Dad tell me that?
Even now, I am trapped!
