Why Didn't You Tell Me Poem by Randy McClave

Why Didn't You Tell Me

The Pastor preached on Hell
Where sinners and the Devil does dwell,
It is the lake of fire
The home of the Devil, the liar.
As the Pastor preached on this sermon
Our destination was ours alone to determine,
Then to God we sang and unto him we did pray
At Church, that morning, on Sunday.
Then a man reached out to the Pastor and said
Do you know what's worse than going to hell when you are dead,
What's worse than knowing forever you'll suffer in damnation
Knowing you once had a choice of Jesus's salvation.
Knowing in the lake of fire you will forever burn
Because, salvation was never your thought or concern,
And then as you lament and suffer on
The word and the love of God will now be forever gone.
I have no answer the Pastor did honestly speak
As a truth he did solemnly and biblically did seek,
And as the Pastor spoke once again
The Pastor said he couldn't think of a worse sin.
Then the man unto the Pastor then said just think of it
Imagine falling into the bottomless pit,
Knowing soon you'll begin your eternal suffering and pain
All falling on you like Hell's rain.
What's worse than burning in Hell the man then did cry
It's your choice your destination after you die,
But, imagine your child passing you and their agony you do see
Then your child cries unto you, "why didn't you ever tell me".
