Why Die If You May Yet Live Poem by Oduro Bright Amoh

Why Die If You May Yet Live

Why die if u may yet live?
Why frown if u can still smile?
Why doubt if u may yet believe?
Why stand if u can run a mile?
Life presents to us only what it presents; its presence!
It isn't the rainbow's idea to calm your nerves,
Neither does the waterfall fall so u may fall in love.
What life gives is what u can take for yourself,
And joy and pain are just a feeling apart.
Feel your eyes open to a brand new world,
Let the breeze of hope whisper to your eyes,
Touch the now and forget the before,
Smell the aura of a new era,
Taste the taste of your delicious soul.
Why must two tears (as if in waiting)
Quickly attend to the call of your beautiful eyes?
Why must sorrow enthrone itself
In the face that belongs to joy?
Why die if u may yet live?
Why frown if u can still smile?
