To wake up from a dream divine, when I prove His, and He proves mine
As if it were a perfect sign, as if two destinies entwine.
Perhaps to shed a trail of tears to join the ones I've shed for years,
And yet, this day, without the fears, when all at once new hope appears.
The Lord has set my soul apart, content to heal my broken heart,
To cast away sin's deadly dart, thus granting me a brand new start.
Though born again, if troubled still, I'll climb, by faith, my Saviour's hill
And see the Blood Christ chose to spill because He knew the Father's will.
Good News based on amazing grace transcends the evils that take place,
No wonder choosing to embrace the splendours of my Saviour's face.
And if through tears of gratitude, the King of Kings I've sometimes viewed,
Each day, I know with faith renewed that life is but an interlude.
To think, Christ went to Calvary, and there He stayed and died for me,
Not just to suffer misery, His pain and each man's mockery,
Christ saw it through until life's end in ways I barely comprehend!
I'm not ashamed to cry, dear friend, as I, the Gospel, now defend.
