Why Do I Write Poetry? Poem by Dr John Celes

Why Do I Write Poetry?

God made me suddenly, a bard;
It was by serendipity;
I took my pen and worked quite hard;
Words gushed from heart as poetry!

I wrote in times of stress and strain;
God sowed His words into my heart;
They helped unload heart's anguish, pain;
With years, my poetry turned smart!

Oh what a pleasant job, I do!
Most magic words are all within;
God gives this gift to just a few;
I won over my stress and sin!

I wrote with zeal much on my part;
With time, God's grace had blessed my art.
