Why Here, Butterfly? Poem by Razya Sultana

Why Here, Butterfly?

Rating: 4.0

Why did you come here,
In this lonely dark room
While everybody choked & ran away,
And the spider webs scared them all.
Why did you come here,
Where no scented petals
Make rainbows on the stream
And never call you close.
Why did you come here
Leaving the colour back home.
Or were they too heavy
And added more to the pain.
Why did you come here, little butterfly?
You shall hate my company, go away.
Forget this place, little butterfly.

I have burnt down the books
And the rats are dining with my food.
I am empty with no candles
And I don't want any light.
I broke my window pane yesterday-
Thought the wind would leave dust.
I pierced the roof of the house
Just hoping the raindrops will fall.
I threw away all the jumpers
Let me stay here to be cold.
I crashed down to all sorrows
After you left me on my own.
But a butterfly has flown
Through the broken open window.
So, I ask you butterfly
Why did you come here, ..........

'WHY ARE YOU HERE, BUTTERFLY? '

The butterfly flew out the window and lived three years. The candle dissappeared, and give off the light. The raindrops give new life, roof pierced broken window, fresh air and for a rat to dine, he must be quite civilized, and really a good friend Thank you
