Why I Am Not Married Poem by Randy McClave

Why I Am Not Married

She asked me a question
Pertaining to my life,
I had already learned my lesson
Why I don't have a wife.
Are you engaged or married
No, I told her I am not,
The reasons are varied
Why I won't ever again tie the knot.
I don't drink, or smoke or chew
Or use women or abuse,
Helping others I enjoy to do
So, finding me a wife is hard to choose.
I don't lie or cheat or steal
I don't break promises that I give,
Only unto God will I ever kneel
With happiness I want to live.
The women that I have met
They aren't the marrying type,
They live for pain and regret
And they like to complain and gripe.
They like to be abused
They like being taking advantage of,
And they don't mind being used
As long as they are in love.
They'll stay with any man
Even if he treats them like dirt,
Pathetic are those type of woman
Who enjoy to be hurt.
No I am not wedded
And I truly don't think I'll ever be,
I don't want a woman who wants only to be bedded
I want a wife with the same beliefs as me.
