Why I Jump Into River Naked Poem by Arun Maji

Some people plan to swim.
So they buy swimming gear,
buy goggles.
Then they look for ideal pool
ideal teacher,
ideal day to start.

Amongst all these preparations,
their zeal is lost.
And their dream dies.

But I am like those,
who are bloody idiots.
I see river
I immediately take off my pants,
jump into swirling dangerous river
naked. Damn naked.

As I jump into whirlpools,
I start drowning to death.
And when I am about to die,
suddenly, I learn swimming
and reach to shore
bloody victorious.
Believe me,
those beautiful things you see in this world,
they are created by idiots.
