Why I Love Poetry - Poem by Melissa Wagner
The way the words rhyme,
more beautiful than bells' chime.
Each writing a work of art,
reaches down and grabs hold of my heart.
The flow of words so sweet,
makes such a great treat.
How anyone cannot treasure,
must have no sense in pleasure.
Oh poetry so divine,
go over the limits, reach past the line.
How do you make me express my emotions so easily?
You steal the words from me with effort so measly!
You take from me what I hold captive,
Secrets held inside, yet exposed I come alive.
You have healed me and opened my eyes,
the truth be told, no more lies.
Now shine in your glory,
and over you no one will quarry,
that you are amazing!
