Why Is It Wrong To Have It All?

The future is in the hands of the next generation
Like it or not
We carried on as those before
Look where we got

Progress? You've got to be joking
Religion, Illuminati, Aliens taking the blame
Wars around the world escalate
Its not their fault; we are; we stay the same

Money makes the world go round?
It never has and it never will
It's an excuse for those in power
To give you a reason to kill

Love makes the world go round?
It never has and it never will
It's a romantic thought at best
An unrealistic bitter-sweet pill

A universe in constant motion
Is what makes this world revolve
An existence based on mutual respect
Along with human will and resolve

These are the simple answers
Far too simple to be believed
And that's the very reason
You think it can never be achieved

"Change takes generations to happen
To traditional values we must abide
Or else it would make a mockery
Of all of those who have died"

With this foremost in our collective minds
A way forward is always hidden
A world based on mutual respect
Are thoughts that are forbidden

If we decided to stop and think
Just how we would want it to be
We would challenge the very fabric
Of everything in our collective history

Money is a tool invented by us
As a tool it is meant to be used
Correctly: it gives a value
Inappropriately: it becomes abused

So why do we allow an invention
Created as part of a societal frame
To ruin the lives of billions
In a perverse rich man's game?

The answer is simple enough
You believe if we changed, we'd be lost
So we have to have it, don't we?
No matter the human cost

What if there was a system
Not reliant purely upon monetary acquisition
Would you be interested enough?
Would you be prepared to listen?

What if this form of co-existence
Guaranteed the end poverty
The end of all known cancers
Of AIDS and HIV

What if it ended all forms of racism
Along with all current wars
But keeps every country's unique sovereignty
Along with every country's unique laws

It removes all forms of avarice
It gives rise to global equality
Abolishes class distinctions
Without removing one iota of diversity

It allows rich people to still be rich
Icons to be something you still adore
Rewards a conscientious lifestyle
Eradicates the need to be poor

Third world countries no longer exist
Repatriates all estranged families
Answers the prayers of us all
Without having to get on your knees

It keeps all forms of religion alive
It retains spirituality
Embraces creationism and evolutionism
For a minimum of eternity

Considers all future challenges
No matter what they may be
Eliminates societal stagnation
With purpose built-in flexibility

Where every child has a childhood
Safe from any form of predation
Free from any form of violence
With the guarantee of free education

Relegates unemployment to the history books
Rids the world of slavery
It solves all these problems and more
And its all completely free

How can this be possibly be done?
This all sounds too good to be true
You'll never believe the answer
It's all up to you!

You as an individual
You as a family
You as a creed
You as a country

You as a species
You as a race
Giving rise to humanity's birth
With dignity, pride and grace

Scoff as much as you want
I've taken more than my fill
The simple truth about all of this is
If you don't, then who will?

There isn't a problem that can't be solved
It's here and now you must take a stand
It's no use denying our predicament
By burying your heads in the sand

Who or what will save you?
Does a creator have a plan?
Aliens? Niribu? World War Three?
Nature doesn't differentiate when "it" hits the fan

A creator has never saved, even the most pious
Aliens are a modern twist
When "mother nature" moves
We're all on the same list

It's about time to stand up for ourselves
Stop hiding behind dogma and tradition
That's no longer reason enough
For us all to be on the road to perdition

No matter what we've done before
And for what ever length of time
If we don't do something now
Our collective inaction will be our epitaph, our crime

How do you think we will be remembered?
By any future generation?
As idolators, pathetic racist nepotists?
Greed driven golems in search of constant adulation?

Do you really want to be part of
The generations who didn't care
The generations who could have done something
The generations who didn't dare

Didn't dare to stand up for our children
Didn't dare to challenge the past
Wouldn't take responsibility
But would end up being the last

Humans can be whatever we want to be
Not part of some undefinable plan
Created not by an ethereal being
But by the greed of man

What's wrong with taking the chance?
A chance where no-one has to fall
You know we all deserve this
Why is it wrong to have it all?
