Why You Drift Away From Yourself Poem by Arun Maji

Why You Drift Away From Yourself

Rating: 5.0

He will come again
Begging your love.
Don't drive him away. Don't.
You have driven him away so many times before,
Even without looking at him, smiling at him.

He will surely come again
Begging you, at least to recognize him.
Pause. Pause, no matter what you do then.
Look at him, smile at him.

You know him!
Isn't it?
He is beautiful, he is serene, he is peaceful.
Isn't he?
He is loveable, he is loving, he is kind.
Isn't he?
Then why you drive him away
Again and again?
Don't you need a good friend?
The real friend, the true friend, the friend who never abandons you?

By the way, who is he?
Who?
It's you, a fragrant flower in earthly garden, a messenger of God.

O man,
Why you drift away from yourself?

This is so deep. Most don't even know they've turned their back on themselves. Thanks for sharing.
