Wild Heart Poem by April Humason

Wild Heart

Your smile—a spark that wakes my soul,
In love's soft tidal, we feel whole.
Innocent dreams and open air,
Yet still I hide the joy I wear.

I laugh, I play, I wear the guise,
While silent fears behind me rise.
A restless ache, a hopeful stream,
A heart that longs to live the dream.

The weight of judgment hangs nearby,
Old shadows where our courage lies.
But let us break the chains of shame
And call this love by its true name.

Why can't I stand the way I am—
Unhidden heart, unmasked, unsham?
This is my prayer, my soul's release:
To love in truth, to live in peace.

No more fear, no more disguise,
We lift our hearts toward open skies.
Together bold, together true—
A wild, free heart in me and you.
