Wilfred Owen Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Wilfred Owen

You taught us to take into confidence
What the World Wars can yield to,
How civilization totters and falls to crumbling,
How does it batter mankind, the poor destiny of mankind?

The soldiers too are human beings, they too are the sons and daughters
Of expecting fellows thinking of their return journey home,
they too have tears into the eyes of theirs,
They are not the dumb cattle to be bought and sold.
