Will I Go Home? Poem by Samuel Ndirangu

Will I Go Home?

Tell me about your despair
And I will tell you mine
Stich like a survivor
In the debris of a fallen building
Fear engulfs me
But how can I loose myself?

Bound by chords of despair, I lose myself
Meanwhile, you move on
The sun & the clouds move across the barren landscapes
Over the canopies of deep forests
Over mountains & valleys
In the evening I see them
Cattle, sheep and camels
All heading home again

Day 1 I am stuck, day 100 I am not free
When will this night end?
Will I ever be free
And fly home like the geese fly in the evening?
