Samuel Ndirangu Poems

The scarlet cloak, the dripping springs
He has to put on a veil
But... plain or flaural?
He can't find closure.
...

I work all day, to have bread on the table
Evening comes, there is no bread to show
The next day I woke up, I don't want to work
Day comes, then night, the same cycle.

Your stature, like the palm, pleasing to the eye
Like jewels, the work of a Craftsman's hand
Your name fills my atmosphere
And echoes on the highlands of my heart
...

Society: Men! Express your emotions and feelings
....
Man: I am so depressed
Society: Oh, get over yourself
...

Tell me about your despair
And I will tell you mine
Stich like a survivor
In the debris of a fallen building

The Veiled Cloak

The scarlet cloak, the dripping springs
He has to put on a veil
But... plain or flaural?
He can't find closure.

He makes up excuses to change focus
Can't stand his condition, so he veils it from everyone
Hides the cloak beneath the veil
And the streams flow underneath.

They would never know it
The constant stings he feels
Because when morning comes
They almost aren't real
Yet night will most certainly come.

Darkness hits like disaster
He is scared, engulfed by fear
The dreaded pirates of the night
He needs a guardian angel.
