Willing Slave To What Is...By Ivan F. - Poem by Margaret Kollmer

(Taken from the Old Phorum circa 1998)

Liberated from all desire to be liberated
remaining a hopeless slave to what is,
I am.

Having left behind all seeking enlightenment
basking in the dazzling light of darkness
happy with not knowing everything

after courting order and consistency for years
finally married chaos and insanity

without any hope or fear
enjoying the coolness of heaven and the heat of hell
in the comic tragedy called life.

Resisting nothing
especially not my own resistance

accepting everything
including my own non-acceptance

tolerant of everything
including my own and other peoples’ intolerance

just watching everything
including watchfulness,
I am.

How nice to enjoy the freedom
of being a slave to what is.

.....and then just read my somewhat satirical reply:

Just read my poems – or don’t
rationalise
empathise
sympathise.< br>See me in the light
see me in the shade
shadows of nightfall
as I stumble in the dark.

Just read my poems – or don’t
agonise
spiritualise
with goo-goo eyes.
See me in heaven
see me in hell
swimming in the Styx
beneath Lucifer’s eye.

Read my poems – or don’t
for what you read is
…..or is not!
It’s all a game
or is it not?

(Certainly a whole lot of fun!)
