Willow Poem by H E Alexander

Willow

Do not weep so, little Willow,
for yet awhile you do not know
sadness upon your silken brow.

Look upward to the waxing moon,
among the stars so softly strewn,
to keep you safe when darkness looms.

The noble nature of your birth
hath roots entwined ‘neath Mother Earth
to nurture there your precious worth.

Solid rock secures stable ground
thereon to build a love profound
bestowed upon a princess crowned.

So, till day breaks upon the ‘morrow
when the sun's warm light begins to glow,
sleep peacefully there, our sweet Willow.
