Winter Poem by Sanket Kumar Singh

Winter

Rating: 4.5

In the winter,
When the air is frigid,
The streets are empty,
The river waters placid.

A serene silence
Sweeps over the world.
An occult beauty prevails
As all creations get lulled.

The peaceful isolation,
Fills me with a cold joy,
My misanthropic soul revels,
As the silence I rejoice.

The pale sky,
The silver mist,
The vile sunlight defeated,
Its might lost amidst.

Time stands still,
Hypocrisy freezes in time.
The frigid breeze against the trees
Creates silent music sublime.

The silence scares the wicked.
The deadly silence overwhelms their mind.
Their weak shadows retreat,
For their sun they could not find.
