Winter Home Frenzied Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Winter Home Frenzied

winter!
the home to frenzied
winds
and scores of leaves
sere and depleted
from the familiar sap
cut without pity.

winter!
the home to stellar
trembling
see this from our bastions
and tremble too!

winter!
the home above all
of long, long dreams
so often hid
from the films of the
brain:
so often lived
in the secrecy of the sub-conscious
toll each night
each night...
and
outside rage wind and
rain and splash of rare
cars are rarer paces:
outside
outside
for winter be
the home to frenzied
winds
and scores of leaves
sere and depleted
from the familiar sap
cut without pity.
