Winter Wonder Poem by Royston Allen

Winter Wonder

Rating: 4.5

Trees like skeletons as sunlight shines through.
Cobwebs sparkling with drops of frozen dew;
Glistening white frost carpeting the grass,
dazzling light reflecting from window glass.

The deep contrast of the darkness and light
as the winter's sun shines radiant and bright.
Sparkling shrubs dressed with diamond like gems,
draped with winters beautiful diadems.

Water transformed into sheets of ice
scattering the sunlight and dazzling the eyes.
The bitter wind of winter, chilling and cold,
numbing fingers and toes of young and old

Pathways as treacherous as ice rinks,
becoming more slippery as the sun sinks.
Dancing snowflakes descending from the clouds;
covering the landscape with great white shrouds.

Stirred by the wind, the snow scatters around
all swirling and twirling it falls to the ground.
Each flake unique with a design of its own;
twisting and settling wherever it's blown.

A beautiful poem on winter. Loved its flow and rhyming. The wordplay is amazing. 'Stirred by the wind, the snow scatters around all swirling and twirling it falls to the ground. Each flake unique with a design of its own; twisting and settling wherever it's blown.'... is so nice. Thanks for sharing.10++++
