Wintertime Friends Poem by Randy McClave

Wintertime Friends

I have no wintertime friends at all
Never do they ever text me or call,
Never do they check up or say hi to me
Not one in the wintertime do I ever hear or see.
In the wintertime I am always all alone
No one answers when I call them on the phone,
It is as though they did just disappear
Seemingly, no longer are they here.
I see them though online all of the time
But, it seems like to them I committed a crime,
They never respond when I tell them hi
I use to wonder why.
They boast of all the adventures they are doing
And dreams in their mind that is brewing,
I still always give them a like and a smile
But, I haven't heard from them in a long while.
Now it is the beautiful month of June
Those who I called friends will be contacting me soon,
Because, I have a boat and also a pool
And in summertime they always.wanna get cool.
To those who soon will remember me as a friend
To them this message I happily do send.
Of course they'll decide I should give them a cool treat
But, this year I say, enjoy the heat.
