Wisdom From A Girl's Room Poem by Randy McClave

Wisdom From A Girl's Room

She is not afraid
Her demons she has slayed,
As she listened carefully to others
Girlfriends, sisters and mothers.
Instead of worrying about what she can't control
She won't allow nonsense to destroy her soul,
Instead she'll shift her energy to what she can create
Changing her own fate.
She knows that she doesn't have to fight every battle
She can't be used or rattled,
Other battles she'll watch until she does overcome
She might look like a fool, but her mind is full of wisdom.
She was told often enough what to be aware of
And not to confuse lust with love,
And how never to be abused
Never to be mistreated or tricked or used.
She was told how not to act
And to always seek truth and every fact,
And never ever say, 'yes! '
Just to impress.
Never leave her house empty handed
Gullible on her forehead should never be branded,
Always be prepared
And run screaming if ever you feel scared.
She was taught and told what clothes to wear
And how to style her hair,
Beauty in her does and will always loom
That's wisdom from a girl's room.
