Wish The Ground Stands Still Poem by Preena Mathew

Wish The Ground Stands Still

Rating: 5.0

Wish the ground stands still..
When we see all that's gone...
From where once was a pleasant land

Wish the ground stands still
When some find trace of their homes..
Some lend a helping hand

Wish the ground stands still
When some begin their life again..
With no prints left behind...

It's courage and faith...
Binds all together
When all left is a painful grind..

God helps them gather all back again
When some live their lives again
Their memories help them bind

Life gives us strength
we need to see
what good is left behind..
Still, we pray..
We wish..
Wish the ground would stand still...
Wish the ground would stand still...

This Is A Poem I Wrote When I Came To Know About Devastating Landslides In My Native Land.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Seven hundred houses crushed under tons of dirt, five hundred persons died, two hundred bodies couldn't be identified. Three thousand persons have lost everything they had, have to pickup their lives from the scratches…Nature's fury
