Without A Once Goodbye Poem by Melanie Weeks

Without A Once Goodbye

I was hanging out with my friends today,
Just Like every Sunday at church.
My best friend went inside and came out,
Eyes real wide and smiling.
'You gotta go inside! '
I looked at her face and asked,
'Why are you acting this way?
Is it the cute band boys? '
She laughed and pointed to the door,
Telling me to go inside.
I went inside and what I saw shocked me.
You were right there, plain as day.
It's been months since I saw you last.
But there you were and our eyes met,
You smiled your crooked smile.
And your eyes, oh your eyes!
I love your eyes.
Left eye green,
Right eye blue,
Shining as you looked at me.
All through Sunday school,
We kept catching each others eye.
Its amazing how you were actually there,
I couldn't believe.
I love you so much, that much you know.
And all through church servous,
We had our hands entwined.
I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
My heart was soaring, and racing too!
I couldn't believe I was there with you.
There was an Easter party that day,
And you and your brother said you'd stay.
You and I flirted a little,
But when I was inside helping out.
You and your brother slipped away,
Without a once goodbye.
It was just like two months ago.
Leaving without a word.
You left halfway through the party.
I was, oh, so sad.
My friends were so worried,
They knew I might cry.
Even my mother knowticed my sadness,
And silently asked me why,
But she knows how I feelt about you,
So it wasn't hard to guess.
After that I put on a fake smile,
And tried to have fun.
You came and gave me my own taste of Heavan,
But I should have known it wouldn't last.
My luck hasn't changed, and your feelings haven't either.
I'm crazy with lost feelings, and your crazy for leaving.
I'm still hurt, you see,
And it's the next day.
I wonder if you ever, truely loved me.......
