Without A Risk Poem by Verilyn Titus

Without A Risk

Nothing in life is without risks you know...
Example, loving someone even after they must go...
Into a world full of dangers and risks much of the same...
No one out there to truly connect the truth but plenty placing the blame...
Why is it that you can't clearly see...?
That the biggest risk was losing the person you built in me...
The complacent child who was along for the ride...
Always helping where and when I could to help you hide...
An unknown secret that no ones supposed to tell...
O yea I've seen plenty of proof of this and I know that face well...
Afterall, as they say a child can see deeper...
Whether an adult close to them is a giver or a keeper...
So, granted my risk has been challenging and great...
But I have to be a giver for my kids before it's too late...
To help them see the difference a giver can make....
Even if they only just for a second decide to take...
A risk and love someone more than they love themselves...
And always stick to the truth rather than put loved ones on a shelf.
