Without You Poem by Tina J. Dang

Without You

the night was dreary and the rain came down
he said; lets go on a ride. away from this town.
all through the ride, he had nothing to say.
it was as if something was on his mind, something in the way.
than suddenly it came out, outta the blue
'my parents said i had to break up with you'
'im sorry' he said.. 'i cant pretend'
'my parents say our love must end.'
she took off his ring as tears came from her eyes,
as the fear of losing him, began to arise.
with tears threatning to fall, he held them back
he parked the car unconsciousally on the railroad track.
he held her hand and gave her peice of paper
and said 'read it later'
she always wished they would never part,
in a sad voice she said, 'you just broke my heart.'
she opend the door and walked into the rain
thats when she saw the bright lights of the train.
realizing too late what she had sighted
with a blink of an eye, the metal collided.
all she could see was the blood running red,
a man called from behind calls out, 'i think hes dead'
the ambulence sounded like an agony cry,
she opend the paper and it read, 'without you, i would die.'
