Without You Poem by Danny Speicher

Without You

Rating: 5.0

Oh muse from a previous life gone by
How your laughter haunts me the same today
As it did the first day you caught my eye
Time stops, for a moment, like it did then

Oh I never thought we would ever part
Taking for granted those times I held you
So close I could hear each beat of your heart
Not thinking it would end... The hows and whens

When it ended, oh how I was devastated
No one had to tell me what I had lost
I never saw it, how our love was ill-fated
I never believed that the end was true
I never dreamed of a life without you

Here I am years later, days growing old
Never knew you would be my only muse
I dreamt that my life would not be so cold
A wife and children, but I am alone

When it ended, oh how I was devastated
No one had to tell me what I had lost
I never saw it, how our love was ill-fated
I never believed that the end was true
I never dreamed of a life without you

I'd like to be angry; wish you were mine
But, I see you smile, kids off each arm
A loving husband whose smile is kind
And that anger fades when my muse smiles

But, I still didn't grasp the end was true
And I never dreamed of life without you
