Wole Soyinka Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Wole Soyinka

Wole soyinka
The songs of Africa
Sings he
Wole Soyinka
As an African,
Of the Dark Continent
By being the heartthrob,
Heartbeat of it.

On the telephone
Does he the conversation,
Talks he of the civilian and the soldier,
Landscapes unfurrowed
And contrasted
In a muffled and muted in voice
Symbolically about
Race, ethnicity, colour and complexion.
