Women Poem by Nangamso Ndikandika

Women

Women take your place
For you are the necks of heads
The sea of fishes
And, the rays of the sun

You are the floor of the forest
The nails of the hand
Yes women, you are the mine of Gold

Take your place and prove your worth
Claim your wealth and the power you wield
Your are the tree of branches
The indelible oil of the sunflower
And, the salt of the ocean

You are the thorn of roses
See your place, place yourself and claim your wealth
Wear your crown with pride, dignity and remain humble
For you are the clocks of time
The sounds of music
And, the beats of drums

You are the blood of veins
Sitter of emotions
Ow yes, Women you are the song of hope

You are the sweet honey and wax of bees
See your place, place yourself and claim your wealth
Coz you are the bee’s knees.
