Women's Day

No day is without women
You are creator, you are progenitor
You were in the beginning
You shall be in the end.
How tough your journey be
but you carry no scars of time
on your lovely face that smiles
to all in joy and pain.
You have mellowed down
the dark patches of patriarchy
with sweet demeanour and compassionate heart.
You have measured the world
out of your silence.
You carved your niche
to bounce back amidst hostile sea
with flag of victory and smile.
You have proved your metal
writ large that you needn't clamour
for a place under the sun
for you are born equal.
