Words can heal or they can harm
They can be a curse, or a charm
They pick you up and make you fly
Or drop you so hard you just wanna die

A compliment received in flattery
Is akin to a punch, or other such battery
But a statement that comes from the heart
Can make you feel close when you're far apart

Sticks and stones may break bones
But words will wound you unseen
Keep your heart pure and you will be sure
To always say what you mean.
