Words Come And Go Poem by Lavigne Kin

Words Come And Go

words come and go,
like a river I overflow
with thoughts of you,
your eyes, your face,
your every movement
transports me to the land of bewilderment,
to the coast of enchantment,
where i utter words no longer my own:
who are you,
and what have you done to my identity? i was like water without form,
conforming to the condition at hand,
in every rendition i was content but absent,
waiting for the right recipient
to challenge me out of complacency,
to embrace my fluidity
i did not expect you, you see
but in a way, i did—
for when you opened the door and stepped in
to my life,
there was no room for either hesitation or strife
'I see you, '
said I, confiding to your reflection,
like some magical incarnation
of a legendary story from another generation,
I. sought. you.
I sought you in the mornings,
the moment I gained consciousness and shiverings
I sought you in the light,
the moment I lost attention to my never-ending plight
I sought you in the evenings,
the moment I found rest from the day's happenings
I sought you in the dark,
at times when agitated and nervous was my heart
words come and go,
but you, you remain carved in my mind,
like classical poetry etched in broken pottery from long ago,
you soothe the troubles left behind
by the tyranny of time
where is the Master of this rhyme?
words come and go,
like a river I overflow
with thoughts of you,
your eyes, your face,
your every movement
transports me to the land of bewilderment,
to the coast of enchantment,
where i utter words no longer my own:
who are you,
and what have you done to my identity?
