Words Like Rain Poem by Tom Foster

Words Like Rain

Rating: 4.7

Like rain
Water her words
I drink them
Like poetry
Music when she says my name like
Soft forest green
Flannel sheets when she whispers
She loves me she is
Like that like
A summer storm
Sometimes
Full of bluster and bravado heat
Lightening flashes behind
Those blue gray eyes
Thunderful challenges
Warning back off but
Cry come hold me in
The same sensual growl like a cat
A lioness like
Some wild thing and
I am called from
The desolation from the dry
Desert that is man
And her call her
Words are
Like rain and
I drink them in

Tom- I am not at all a morning person, especially after only 1 hour of sleep before errands take my day, but you have brought a smile to my face this morning. That is hard to achieve my friend :) Lovely work
