Work Poem by Elizabeth Jacqueline Mpanga

Work

Rating: 5.0

Many years I have worked and toiled,
For many years I have been honest and put integrity first
Many years I have paid my dues and been patient,
I have waited for the good to triumph over the evil
For many years I have played the part of the faithful Christian,
All the while watching those who do not ascribe to the almighty live an easy and comfortable life,
I have watched the uneducated get ahead of me because they use other means to get their way
What then will be my reward in this world?
Many years I have saved yet my assets amount to so little,
My education is nothing but a paper and I have become a laughing stock
While those who did not spend sleepless nights earn more than me,
Are able to invest much more
What is my reward then?
What do I get for trying to do the right thing?
How am I supposed to carry on this way if I see evil being repaid with good?
Where is my justice?

What is my reward then? What do I get for trying to do the right thing? How am I supposed to carry on this way if I see evil being repaid with good? Where is my justice? ....you are posing a very big question.. for which we dont find an answer........... then is the tempation to do what others do .. getting out of the norms of integrity and goodness....it can lead one to evil. we will lose our mental peace..... Lord God help me and the poetess Elizabeth to find an answer which you like and according to ur holy will.. thank u dear poetess for this valuable poem... tony
