We work hard and we're proud of what we've achieved
The struggles worthwhile, but it's hard to believe
For every step forward, there's another step back
A dollar been saved, another bill on the stack

Just workin' to get by, and keep what we've got!
Some days its so hard, that it takes alot!
Just workin' to get by, and havin' some fun!
Keep my head out of the clouds, and my face in the sun!


We know who we are, and where we are from
The values we set, are passed to our young
We take care of our folks and when the day is all done
We get up the next mornin' and do it again!

The pride that we feel at the end of the day
On a job well done, and a good days pay
Is it's own reward in it's own way
Do the best you can, and come what may

We'll work hard till the end of our days
It's the right thing to do, and it's how we were raised
It's not what we have, that we leave behind
But memories, love, and a satisfied mind.
