Working For The Rope Poem by alessandra kerr

Working For The Rope

My tears are always accompanied with gasps
But truly I'm crying all the time
Every day I'm deep in my stress
Wondering if I'll survive and what's next
Listening music, pain and suicide in raps
Mind constantly replaying that night
Making jokes during that similar fright
Keep my act tight so they don't notice
See I'm weak and like a cracked glass
listen their worries so mine can pass
Say I'm perfect when I hate myself

Wake up then sleep for hours
Escape my feeling's powers
I'm helpless with no escape left
Laughing and flirting while bereft
I'm surviving each day barely
Hoping my exit is real early
