Works In This Way Poem by Francis Duggan

Works In This Way

Rating: 5.0

Our younger years go quickly we eventually grow old
And though in everyone's life there is a story few life stories are told
we are born into life to eventually die
A mere fact of our existence and fact never lie
Each day we live one nearer to our last
And memories are all we retain of the past
We all will die one day this includes you and me
And on how long we live there is no guarantee
There are good and bad people in every town
And though most people daydream of wealth and renown
Wealth and fame only comes to the privileged few
And this is not saying anything that is new
For all of us there is a last night and day
We are born to mortality life works in this way.
